Somerset Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Strategy - We need your views

We wish to inform you that the public consultation on the review of the Somerset Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Strategy (SHRSS) is now live. You can access the consultation here.

Please share the link with your colleagues, friends, and families.

The link takes you to a consultation document. This document is NOT a draft SHRSS. Instead, the consultation document describes homelessness and rough sleeping across Somerset. It sets the scene with regards to demographic changes and looks at prevention/support and accommodation related services – identifying challenges and opportunities. The document has been prepared using the output of recent workshop exercises with the Homeless Reduction Board (HRB) and other partners. The consultation asks you to complete a series of questions.   Please note that it is not necessary to read the documents (or watch the videos) in order to provide your feedback.

To accompany the consultation, there are three videos from people with lived experience of Homelessness and Rough Sleeping. These have been prepared by Second Step (provider of outreach support services) and their clients and provide really insightful background. We encourage you all to watch these videos.

The consultation document is also accompanied by a comprehensive Equalities Impact Assessment (EIA). It currently contains a set of draft actions for us to consider. We shall continue to develop this.

The consultation closes on September 23rd.
